Mackenzie Annett and Hamish Stayt
Ecobase
Ecobase’s Mackenzie and Hamish are two ‘lads’ on a mission to drive change and reduce stigma and environmental harms in the cosmetics industry.
The school friends - who are now studying at uni - launched their gender neutral lip balm Ecobalm in 2020.
The young entrepreneurs received He Kākano funding this year and are being matched with a specialist mentor.
They say they are “passionate about making a positive impact with our products through our commitment to sustainability. Our biodegradable products and eco-friendly manufacturing processes reflect our values and dedication to changing the harmful life cycle of plastic products.”
