Our Mentors

When participants from an Enterprise course choose to establish, or further, a business, they are matched with a mentor who offers one-to-one support to develop and grow their business.

The mentor helps the emerging entrepreneur initially solidify a business plan and prepare for a grant from the Trust.

Mei Fong

Mei has extensive experience in banking and finance, tax and compliance. She is a Director and Head of Compliance at Alvarium in New Zealand.

She has worked in law firms in Hong Kong, London and Wellington, and has also managed a wine business introducing New Zealand wines to the New York market. Mei has an LLB/BCA from Victoria University in accounting and finance.

Cameron Brown

Cameron is a qualified Chartered Accountant and experienced finance professional currently employed with Alvarium Investments New Zealand, with prior experience at KPMG in New Zealand and Luxemburg.

His work experience covers a broad number of industries from property finance, banking, insurance, wealth management, and not-for-profits.

Outside of work I am a keen golfer, surfer and participate in several half marathons.


Cameron Martin

Cam is originally from Wellington, where he completed commerce and law degrees from Victoria University of Wellington in 2017. 

His career began in tax at EY and he advised numerous small/medium sized businesses on tax/accounting matters and budgeting/growth strategies.

He is now based in Auckland and works at Alvarium as a Commercial Manager, where he is working with the leadership team on implementing a growth strategy and lead the tax function across the Group.  

Zoe Swift

Zoe is an accountant at Forsyth Barr, a New Zealand owned investment services and advisory firm. Her previous role was a business advisor, working predominantly with SMEs and individuals.

For the past five years she has volunteered at the SPCA and is also the Treasurer of Blue Oyster, a not-for-profit community gallery. 

She is a proud graduate of Otago University and will become a qualified Chartered Accountant at the end of 2023. 


Martin Smith

Martin has been mentoring for the Prince’s Trust since 2021, he was a Senior Executive L’Oreal 20 years – NZ CEO for several years – 16 years prior working for L’Oreal in Paris, London, China, is a Director of 2 Start-Ups – ESG a priority. 

Martin has previously been a Board member of a NZ Cancer Charity. He sees investing in youth – have benefited from mentoring and wants to give back.

Simon Leach

Simon has spent the last 10 years working in high growth Distribution and Development roles.

My ethos rests heavily on aligning business objectives with social good. He holds a Executive MBA, membership with the Institute of Directors, and is a trustee position on the Life Matters Suicide Prevention Trust. 


Sam Johnson

Sam is the Projects Director for STILL and founding Trustee of Prince's Trust New Zealand.

Sam has founded and scaled a diverse range of charities, businesses, and ideas that aim to create value for society and enhance common well-being. He's most well known as the founder of the Student Volunteer Army (SVA), where he served as Chief Executive until recently.

James Robinson

James is part of the husband and wife team, James and Cecilia Robinson, founders and Co-CEOs of Tend Health a full-service primary healthcare provider and technology company.

Previously, he co-founded and was Co-CEO My Food Bag, and Au Pair Link.  James is also a board member of The Prince’s Trust.

Ben Redwood

With over 10 years experience working in startups and a PhD in Engineering, Ben has always had a passion for solving complex problems. 

Ben has a young family and is particularly interested in elevating Aotearoa to become a leader in sustainability and climate tech while also facilitating the growth of the next generation of kiwi entrepreneurs.


James Barr

James is an award winning filmmaker based in Auckland, with a background in music videos, short film and TV, now working primarily in advertising.

He is the founder and director of Useful Films.
