Young people possess the ability to solve the world’s greatest problems, and my role is to ensure we hear what they’ve got to say. Our challenge is to do something about it.

Most of my career in youth work has explored creative facilitation with groups, weaving together relationships. We’re weaving a whāriki for and with young people, our team, our Board, strategic partners and the global network we’re thrilled to be part of.

I’m a whānau-focused people-person who loves getting lost in long conversations. My not-so-secret hobby is collecting comic books, and I’m forever hunting for old X-Men issues.

ENGAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Exploring and sharing positive and inspiring stories of taiohi, organising events, and co-ordinating fundraising for PTANZ means my mahi is intertwined and totally rewarding.

I am someone who puts young people, and their wellbeing, at the centre, and I am grateful for the commitment and support of our donors and partners; they too value the mārohirohi of taiohi as central to healthy and sustainable communities.

I am a creative and active person who loves the outdoors, whānau and friends. I find inspiration from the beauty of our motu; its rivers, maunga and moana.

Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland is my current taiwhenua.

I am a proud West Aucklander who is passionate about supporting taiohi in navigating our forever changing world. I believe being a youth worker is the best job in the world and I am excited to bring my passions to PTANZ and use entrepreneurship as a vessel to further develop our taiohi.

You will always find me having a great conversation with someone and nothing fills me with more joy than spending time with my husband, friends and whānau especially when it’s over a cup of coffee or some kai.

I’m mainly involved in social media communications, as well as working alongside Bridget Galvin for the co-ordination of fundraising, organisation of events and sharing of inspiring stories.

I thoroughly enjoy working to better the opportunities for young New Zealanders. The Prince’s Trust is a truly inspiring place to work, and every day I am motivated to provide my utmost effort to help young people see their dreams come true.

As a young person myself, I bring a unique lens to the mission of The Prince’s Trust that allows for effective and relatable communication that supports, inspires, and contributes to helping young entrepreneurs reach their potential.

I am someone who is into sport, of any kind, as well as a love for music and relaxed time with friends and whānau.

HE KĀKANO I FINANCE CO-ORDINATOR

I'm so excited to be embarking on this new journey with PTANZ as part of He Kākano funding rollout.

As an accountant, very rarely do I get the opportunity to carry out mahi with such meaning and purpose. I am truly humbled to be able to support the implementation of He Kākano and look forward to seeing how this programme directly supports and enables taiohi to take the next step in fulfilling their goals and dreams.

Outside of work you will find me playing dance mom, netball coach and school helper to my five-year-old daughter, she is full of life and there is never a dull moment with her around. Our weekends are mostly spent with our big immediate whānau or at one of our happy places; Muriwai, Orewa or tramping through the Waitakere ranges chasing waterfalls.

MENTOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

Young entrepreneurs see mentors and networks as some of the most important ingredients needed for their business to succeed.

Meeting rangatahi, identifying their mentoring needs, connecting them to mentors is all part of my mahi with the Mentor Development Project for The Prince's Trust. The specialist piece of work is focused on building a network and community of best practice mentors who are trained and matched to young people/mentees.

I am passionate about supporting young people to visualise, and grow their entrepreneurial spirit, into successful, sustainable businesses. My personal and business philosophy, includes connection (whanaungatanga) and respect and unity (manaakitanga) with authenticity and integrity. I love to walk, go to movies, spend time with friends and whānau and create. I am currently learning Te Reo to continue my support and nurturing of Te Ao Māori.

Hello, I’m Alicia and I so excited to be part of a team that empowers young minds to dream, create, and succeed.

As the Kaiāwhina Whakarite (Operations Support) at PTANZ, I bring a vibrant and outgoing spirit to our mission. I thrive on supporting and enabling the next generation of change-makers ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

You will almost always find my young whānau and I in nature somewhere over the weekend. Camping, fishing or hiking, we love exploring the outdoors and feel very privileged to be living in Tāmaki Makaurau and enjoying all the fruits this city has to offer us.
